ROLEX OYSTERDATE REF. 6694 Orange Sunburst
Some classics deserve to remain untouched. Others invite a fresh perspective - without ever forgetting where they came from.
This Rolex Oysterdate Precision Ref. 6694, dating from circa 1978, pairs the timeless proportions of Rolex's iconic manual-winding Oyster with a striking Orange Sunburst dial that transforms the watch into a bold contemporary statement. The dial is an original Rolex service dial that has been meticulously restored and refinished by skilled craftsmen to achieve its vibrant sunburst finish. Importantly, this watch is supplied with both dials: the beautifully restored Orange Sunburst dial fitted to the watch today and its original factory Rolex dial, allowing the next owner to return the watch to its original configuration at any time.
Complementing its refreshed appearance is a new Rolex-style acrylic crystal, ensuring the crisp, warm clarity that vintage Oyster models are celebrated for.
For us, thoughtful customisation should always be reversible. It allows a collector to enjoy an individual expression today while preserving the authenticity and heritage that make vintage Rolex watches so enduringly desirable. Two dials. Two personalities. One unmistakable Rolex.

ROLEX OYSTERDATE REF. 6694 Purple Rain
Not every Rolex is destined to blend into the crowd.
This Rolex Oysterdate Precision Ref. 6694, produced ca. in 1977, reimagines one of Rolex's most enduring classics with a captivating Purple Rain sunburst dial. Rich, vibrant and constantly changing with the light, it transforms a timeless vintage Oyster into a watch with unmistakable personality - confident, elegant and unapologetically individual.
The fitted dial is an original Rolex service dial, meticulously restored and expertly refinished to create its remarkable Purple Rain effect. It is a genuine Rolex component given a new and distinctive identity by skilled craftsmen.
True to our philosophy, the watch is accompanied by its original factory Rolex dial. This ensures that the next owner enjoys complete freedom: wear the Purple Rain dial as a bold expression of individuality today or return the watch to its original factory appearance tomorrow.
An acrylic crystal completes the restoration, preserving the warm vintage character and unmistakable charm of Rolex's manually wound Oysterdate while presenting it at its very best.
Some collectors chase originality. Others celebrate individuality. We believe you should never have to choose. Original at heart. Unmistakable by choice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about building, renovating, and designing your perfect home. We’re here to help every step of the way.
Our most valuable watches and jewellery are securely stored in a bank vault and are available exclusively through our online boutique. This approach ensures the highest level of security while allowing us to offer exceptional pieces with complete peace of mind. A carefully curated selection of vintage watches and collectibles can be viewed and purchased at our store in The Merchant's Warehouse, Annandale.
Authenticity is at the heart of everything we do. Every watch is carefully inspected by our team and independently assessed by our trusted watchmaker to verify its originality, condition and mechanical integrity before it is offered for sale.
Wherever possible, we source watches with their original box, papers and manufacturer certificates, as these form an important part of a timepiece's provenance. However, many of the exceptional vintage watches we offer are 40, 50 or even 60 years old, and it is not uncommon for their original documentation to have been lost over the decades.
In those cases, we provide our own Certificate of Authenticity, confirming that the watch has undergone a thorough examination and, to the best of our professional knowledge and expertise, is an authentic original. Our commitment is simple: we only sell watches that we would be proud to add to our own collection.
Few topics divide the watch world more than customisation. Our view is refreshingly simple: the owner - not the dealer, not the collector, not the internet - should decide how a watch is enjoyed.
A fine timepiece is no different from a classic sports car. Some owners preserve every original detail, while others choose carefully considered enhancements that reflect their own personality. Both approaches deserve respect.
That said, not every watch should be treated the same.
Exceptional masterpieces - such as complicated creations from Patek Philippe - are part of horological history. We believe these watches should remain exactly as their makers intended and would never alter them.
For more accessible icons, such as the Rolex Oysterdate Precision, we are delighted to offer tasteful custom variations, including distinctive coloured dials that give these timeless classics a fresh and individual character.
There is, however, one principle we never compromise on: reversibility. Whenever we fit a replacement dial or other cosmetic component, the original part accompanies the watch. This allows every future owner to return the watch to its factory configuration whenever they choose, preserving both its history and its options.
For us, true collecting is not about choosing between originality and individuality. It is about respecting both.
